The puppy that never stops wagging his
tail! We originally were
going to call him Sailor but have since changed his name to Nicco (short for Nicolai).
He is healthy and happy
and almost fully house trained. From the very first moment I walked in the door with him, he ran into my daughter's
arms and they have been inseparable ever since! He follows her everywhere she goes.
He sleeps in his crate
at night and doesn't even cry! Sometimes when he is tired during the day he curls up in it for a nap. He loves
to run and play in the backyard; knows the command to sit and scratches on the door when he wants out.
When we
took him to the vet he was a huge hit! Everyone fell in love with him and our daughter was so proud of her first puppy.
Thank you for allowing us to have him as a member of our family. He is loved by us all....well, spoiled rotten
by us all! Happy New Year! Jacquelyn

Hi Debra, Well,
we kept the name Lad for our boy.We all had different names we wanted and so Lad seemed the best compromise. Lad went to the vet on Monday and checked out beautifully. They all
loved him and he thought the whole thing was a great visit and was totally happy. He's been a good boy barring a
couple of accidents in the dining room, which I consider my fault. Shouda had the doors shut. Of course, he hates
being alone and lets the whole world know about it. As for me, I'm completely sleep deprived. Lad lets me know about
3:30 to 4:00 a.m. that it's time to go out for a piddle. He goes right back to sleep. It takes me an hour
or so. Then we get up at 7:30 for outside time and breakfast and play until 10:30. Our whole day is bounded by
play and naps. I think I'm going to have to take off from work. I'm too old to do both. My
vet (another Debra) thinks Lad is beautiful and has a wonderful personality. We agreed that you did a great job
with him. He's very calm and loving. (Bill doesn't think he's calm but what do men know. They
don't understand the difference between a hyperactive child and one with some energy) Anyway, we love him. Vet Debra
is conservative about shots and says no walks until he's through with his shots- around 4 mo. so for the time being
he's visits the back yard only and even there he's on a leash. Rob still mourns Grant. He really fell
in love with him. So I'm sure we'll be back for a Grant puppy sometime. I'll send
you some pics soon so you can judge how Lad's doing. Leslie

Of course you may put anything
good on your web site. We think you're a wonderful breeder and will do anything we can to help people realize that
what a dog is depends a great deal on who breeds him and raises him from birth. I don't think people give enough
credit to breeders (or conversely, don't understand the harm they can do) to a dogs personality. You do great!!
You've got our vote. Leslie

Of course, you
can use the pictures and email. I can write a better one for you though if you like. I can say more about his
wonderful temprement and demeanor and how easy he is to train....etc. I am absolutely in love with him!!!! We may
in the next year or two be calling you for another puppy from your litter! And I have a friend who is so impressed with
this gorgeous, affectionate puppy that she is thinking about contacting you for one in the next six months to a year! She
comes over at seven-thirty every morning ever since we brought him home to play and visit with him on her way to work! He
waits at the door for her now.
I will send you more updates and pictures if you like! My daughter is so happy! sincerely, Jacquelyn

Debra, what city was King in or near? I’m so sorry
he got so frightened.
By the way, our King has become a great companion to my Dad since my mom died
last December. He came to my house for Christmas and brought King with him. I have never, ever known a better dog in the house. He is so good, and he is just beautiful.
Happy New Year.

She sure loves that cat!!! I remarked yesterday that it’s
like Madonna walked into the room or something. No matter what Bethany is doing, even if she is eating or being loved
by one of us, or playing with Riley…she will stop what she’s doing when the cat walks in. She is just star-struck,
bewitched and bedazzled by Trixie! It is so fun to watch.
And you know how I told you the cat gives Bethany a bump on the
head (which means hello-I love you)? Last night I was sitting on the floor combing kitty and Bethany came over to me,
bowed her head and gave me a bump! Forehead to forehead, just like kitty taught her! I was just thrilled!!
File that under Cute
Collie Stories!

Debra: Thought I would let you know how well Tree Bark is doing..... We love her soooooo much.....She and Jewel
are best buddies. The other night Jewel was afraid of the thunderstorm and Tree Bark went and slept beside her in her
burrow to comfort her. Jewel has always been terrified of storms. She has made a burrow on a dog bed under the stairs.
The girls enjoy riding in the car and going on walks together. We got a new expedition and the seats all lay
down and the girls love riding back there. We had a dog bed in our bedroom and it was a riot to watch them. First
come first sleep. Tree Bark got on the bed about 10:30 and crashed out upside down four paws in the air. Jewel
was quite frustrated and slept in the hall way. Tree Bark has learned to sneak water from the toilet at night and she
woke up about 2:30 and slipped off to get a drink.....low and behold....her comes Jewel....she waited for four hours and ran
over and leap on the dog bed and went to sleep.....four paws in the air. Tree Bark came back hurumphed and slept beside
me. About two nights ago we put a second bed in the sitting area. They now sleep side by side (Four Paws in the
Air). They wake up in the morning and Tree Bark has learned the sneezing trick. If you want to wake up dad go
over and start sneezing on him. Sabastian and Jewel use to do it and Jewel has taught Tree Bark. They are always
mouthing each other and rolling on the lawn. Today when Chris got home he gave Tree Bark her toy.....He said here "take
this to Mommy". ....She brought it to me and I gave her a big kiss......She was so excited.....I said "here...take
this to daddy".....she ran to him with it.....this went on about 4 times and then like all collies with repetition...she
got bored and put it on the steps and went of to banter with Jewel. She was ready for her walk and dinner. She is sooooooo
SMART!....... Her whiskers are growing back and the kisses aren't quite so scratching and she has finally stopped
scratching at them. I started working part time at JoAnn's in the sewing center where Husqvarna sells sewing machines.
The dogs are only alone for 4 hours a day.....and Tree Bark hates for me to leave.....She so wants to get in the car
and go with me.....It's like leaving one of my children when they were little.. By the way, we dropped Gracie.....she
came to it but it just wasn't her.......She is now Forever Tree Bark our sweetie pie. She is such a kissy face.
She has learned to corner me in the bathroom so I now have to close the door down so she does lick my face off. Good
Golly Miss Molly we love her and Jewel is a different dog too. They get to run in the hike and bike trail ....at least
til the sticker burrs come out and then they will have to stay to the trail because the burrs hurt real bad. They roll
and play like I'm the biggest bear on the block.....and the neighborhood children come out to pet her and Jewel.....They
got a bath a tail waggin last week end... Tree Bark was real good about it but Jewel hated it......I got a dog and a
half of undercoat from Tree Bark but Jewel hasn't blown her undercoat yet. In case you haven't heard of Tail
Waggin....they are in Georgetown and they have raised tubs where you can wash your dog without bending over....they have shampoo
and conditioners, disposable ear clothes and Q-tips, and a blow dryer.......Tree Bark and Jewel walked out tails wagging looking
like big puff balls - Jewel more than Tree Bark. But they are clean and smell real sweet with there new canine colognes. I keep saying I will send a picture.....I promise I will soon. Just lots going on.....and I wanted to share the funnies
with you. Hope all is well with you and Shawn.......Take Care and God Bless. Gratefully, Sheila

Hi Debra, How
are you doing?
Bethany gets more beautiful all the time, but I really can’t get over what a loving
soul she is! When
people meet her, usually their first comment is on how pretty she is. But after less than a minute they are commenting
on how sweet and gentle she is.
We had another
encounter with a little girl – this one about four – in PetsMart. Again, Bethany did not jump or paw or
in any way alarm the little girl who wanted to pet her. She bowed her head and took the little girl’s hand and
kissed her fingers. She is so sweet!
Now,
if children are jumpy and excited, Bethany will respond in kind. But this is the second time she has encountered a timid
little girl and not frightened her.
That’s
my Collie Girl!

Hey! Just wanted to let you know how Kings Knight is doing. We have 1 week
left of basic obedience training and he is doing well. He can heel, sit, down, come and stay. He has problems with staying but
is getting better. The trainer wants me to continue on and put him in rally competition after we do a focus class.....we will
see :) Right now he will listen to me only ( poor Gary ) and is easily distracted so the focus class will probably be
a must! Love and Butter get a little jealous when he goes to class but once he graduates I will start with them. All
3 of them play and play and play and get along great! I feel like these collies are a gift from God that has allowed
me to focus on something positive during this stressful time with my family. The next class starts in January right when
the trial is supposed to start so we may have to wait. The trainer knows what I am going through and if the trial is postponed
I can sign up at the last minute. I am taking King to a graduation/Christmas party on Dec 13Th and will try and get some
pics for you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Nikki

This does sound soooo fun. Company comin' in, though. I've been
on vacation in Houston. Back yesterday, got both of your messages. Nice to hear from you. I will send you
some pics! Oh yea, we got a nice wrought iron fence put in for Daisy and a dog house, but she only goes in it for 5
minutes at a time!! She sleeps in the house with us. She's already so spoiled. We love her.

Hi Debra, How are things with you? I have enjoyed the pictures of Handy’s
pups. They are amazing.
We are so happy with Bethany, and she is so very happy with us. She loves her cat and
dog friends, and likes her walks. She and I have a special bond. These are the words to describe how she turned
out: sweet, tender, affectionate, gentle and beautiful! You did a great job on your end, Debra. Thank you!
I am continually amazed
at the tender love between collie and kitty. One of these days I hope to capture it on film.
Take care and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Hope all your family
will be with you. Amy

Well
I have officially enrolled King in a basic obedience class that starts this Sat. He is already a part of our family so I
hope this works! He definitely needs this for his safety and enjoyment along with our peace of mind! I can get him to sit
for about 2-3 secs and it kills him :) I think he only does it because I refuse to pet him unless he sits. Butter and
Love just sit patiently but usually get the 1st treat or pat because they are doing what they are supposed to. I really
think this is going to be great for him and for me. I am hoping to learn ALOT and pass it on to the others then go directly
into the good citizen award. If I can continue with it slowly for financial reasons I will! So far so good on the home
front they all seem to be getting use to each other. Still have some jealousy issues but I am hoping as he becomes more secure
with his place in the family it will be controllable :) I will keep you posted!!! We are taking him to our new vet on Fri
for check up and heart worm I will let you know how it goes!! Our contract with the other vet is over in Dec or Jan and
we have already canceled the renewal...what a nightmare! What is your opinion on pet insurance? Just curious if you think
it is necessary. Talk to you soon! Nikki

Dear Debra, I will send you some pictures of Flight next
week. He is approaching the 4 month mark. We are so happy with him!!! He
has us smiling all the time. I was at the Vet. last week getting him his second distemper shot.I use the Hill Air Force
Base Vet. and they call you by your pets name. There were some other pilots waiting and when they called FLIGHT they
all said what a great name, "wish we had of thought of that!" He is 23 lbs now and no longer a
puppy, he is a young man and smart. I have him trained to the leash, he will sit, retrieve, come and we house trained
him in only 4 days! He has the run of the house. I am still working on some of my grandchildren. (ha) We
are now working on staying, saluting, and attention. (ha) I am working on his ears and this might be the first collie
that I will be successful with. I run every morning, he is still to young to go the distance I go.
When I get back he is waiting and he and I go for about a mile walk. We work on commands and just have fun. What
a buddy!!! Flight is maturing into a magnificent dog and we spoil him rotten!! It IS IMPOSSIBLE TO
GET MAD AT HIM SO WE JUST LOVE HIM!!! ALL I CAN DO AT TIMES IS JUST LAUGH. HE DOES ALL THE THINGS A YOUNG PUPPY
AND DOG SHOULD DO. I HAD FORGOTTEN HOW MUCH FUN A PUPPY IS!!! They just don't stay small long enough.
Debra I can't thank you enough for picking him for us and most of all breading the way you do.
Will stay in touch. Gary
Wanted to bring you up to date on Christmas. She is doing great. We are
really enjoying her and so is Callie. All of our neighbors love her too. She is so cute. Wanted also to
let you know we had her spayed yesterday and she is doing fine. We had a bunch of blood work done to make sure her liver,
kidneys, etc, were ok for surgery. All test came back great. Do you want a letter from our Vet that he spayed her for your records? Joe got the fence up and
she is enjoying running in the yard. Right now though the Dr. wanted her to be confined for about a week. So she
stays in the house or in the pen during the day and sleeps in a kennel at night. She is really settling in and seems
to enjoy being here. Let me know if you want a letter. Joe and Ann

They all are so adorable. I wish
I could have them all. Debra, I cannot express words to describe just how very much we love our HANK
that we got from you! He has made such a loving , precious, and beautiful pet. Thank you, Dorothy
Debra, Kathy had to go to a conference in CA for work. She is sorry not to be able to contact you herself. I am puppy
sitting the two little darlings. (I'm Kathy's mom.) It's been a while since I had little puppies around
and I am really enjoying these two. They are quite adventuresome. The little girl was halfway up to the second
floor as quick as a blink. She came right back down when I asked her to. The little boy only goes up one step and then
back down. Kathy bought a crate for their naps. They are really good about going in for a bribe of a few kibbles.
You sure breed beautiful collies. Their little faces are perfect. Feel free to contact me. Elizabeth
Hi Debra!
How are you
doing? I visited your website- I like it. I know how hard it is to get one up and running and
organized! It is a lot of work! It is nice to read the letters to you because I feel like all of your collies
are so well bred by you with such wonderful temperaments. I know most collies have great temperaments, but while I read
them I am thinking “oh my, Gallant is just like that”! “I
think it is something with Debra”! :) You should feel so happy that they have found and bonded
into great homes!
I will send you some more pictures soon.... Or a file of Gallant
so you can choose what you would like for your website. He is cute, he loves riding in the car going with me everywhere.
He is my little shadow - so loving and faithful. My daughter laughs at me and says “Mom
Gally is your Old Faithful, huh?” She is 14 now and more crazy about Gallant than
they day he got here. It has been a little over a year with him and he is just the BEST.... You know
how I feel about him from all my emails! Not to mention I could talk collie with you all day!
I love
the Collies you breed. Not only are they beautiful but they are just as so sweet and loyal. Thank you again for
Gallant. He truly has my heart! Kindly Dana

Hi Debra! Its Edward in Arizona with your Tri Color Collie pup known as "Feather"
I would love to see a photo of your Tri as I would love to have an
older playmate for her! I could get down to Austin in about
3 weeks pending on the weather! Let me know if she is still
available. Hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday!
Wishing you the best in 2008! Edward and Stormy!

hi debra, so good to hear from you....i have e-mailed some of my friends in houston the pictures
of your dogs...they are looking for a pet now.........we are doing fine and you would not believe how big and beautiful saber
is....he is very grand like his daddy gadfly and since i have looked at your photos, now i know where he gets his "sofa"
desire...we are forever saying no-no but he still sneaks his paws up one at a time (like i wouldnt notice a 70 pound collie
next to me)...im afraid its a losing battle!!!...i had been very ill this fall...in the hospital a long time...he was my true
companion while i was getting well on the sofa...always by my side...he is a great friend to jake and romps hard with him,
but is my quiet companion...never leaves my side...gets up at night to follow me to the bathroom(with very sleepy eyes)...i
will get pictures to you soon...i think you will be surprised at his size even though he is not 1 yet....he has that great
royal long neck and perked expression on his face...he is more golden sable than gadfly but i see some new dark coming
in around his face...we will see what happens next year..i will be interested to know what you think...the vet always comments
on how beautiful he is and loves him up extra...acts like he is glad to see him...thanks for the emails...i love to see all
your dogs(jake does too)...hope all is well, teresa.. and saber!!

Debra: My mom asked me to tell you how much they love Hank
and how he has fit into the family so well. He is such a sweet loving dog. Sophie is doing great, too. She
is so spunky and spirited. She and HAnk are best of buds, always kissing each other and
rough housing. What a joy to have both of them.
Let me know if you ever need a reference! Christy
|
Hi Deborah Let me know and I can send you some money for a deposit, As its just a matter of time to get
down to Austin, But I could be there in about 3 weeks. I would love to have another one of your collies as Stormy has turned
out so sweet. She lost the battle with the ears but she is one of the greatest dispositioned dogs I have ever owned!
Let me know and I will talk to you soon! Edward

hi ,thanks for the picture..its hard to remember he was ever soooo small!!!...i had to write and tell
you this funny thing he is doing....we have had a hard time keeping him out of the kitchen garbage can.....he likes to lick
the goodie out of all the milk and ice cream containers....so i went to bed ,bath and beyond and got a fancy electronic can
with a lid that opens and closes with an electric eye beam...well the first few times he walked by it ,his big fluffy tail
would wag past the beam and open the lid...welll he was really scared of it and growled at it....i thought i had a winner...well
mr. busy soon learned he could make it open with his long nose and now he just helps himself....i just created a "vending
machine "for him...i think i need to learn who is running the show around here!!!...have a good night...ill write again
soon, teresa.. and saber

Hi Debra! From your web-site,
it looks like you are busy ;)!! I have attached a photo of Gallant. We went to Petsmart yesterday to pick
up him and Scout from the groomer and they were having a Hawaii themed party for the dogs! Gallant got a lei and
wore it the entire time and all the way home. He even had his picture taken ( I will send later). He is so easy going!
Everywhere we go we get so many compliments on him- he is gorgeous! We had him neutered a few
weeks ago. I had no desire to be responsible for puppies - I would worry too much about their fate. Too
many people do not understand how much maintenance goes along with owning a collie. He has recovered from the
surgery just fine..... Well hope everything is going well? I am glad you found your Dandelion from the dog show-

I am mailing document today forChristmas. She is so funny. Joe left his gloves laying on the ground while he was working outside and she
carried them off. She carried my shoes from one room to another. She picked one up and then she went back and
brought the other one in the room. She is always carry something from one place to another. We are really enjoying
her and so is Callie. Joe and Ann

Hi Debra,
Just wanted
to give you a quick update on Summer. She is such a fine, smart collie who warms my heart more everyday!
Her 12-week vet visit was great. 14 lbs and very healthy.........Training is going very well.
She is almost completely house broken! She can sit, shake hands, lie down and roll over - all for a treat, of course! She'll
even perform without treats and just do tricks for hugs. And, she is finally friends with the leash and the Irish Setter next
door. She was so afraid of his big bark. Now they run and play together.
Her coat is changing......some
of her black has faded, but still has the distinct black marking on her tail. Very fluffy. She doesn't like the heat much
and lives like a queen in the house most of the time. Looking forward to cooler temps when she can run and play more outside,
I've been keeping up with your daily news and new photo's. Summer's litter mates
are all so beautiful. Bethany is wonderful, too. You still have Gadfly, Jr. What are you selling him for?
I'll send pictures soon. Take care. can't tell you how much love and happiness
Summer has brought into our home after losing our collie, Holly, on Christmas. We are so blessed to have her.
Take care,
Mandy
|
|
Hi Debra,
Wanted to share some pictures of Summer
at 10-weeks old. She is adjusting to her new home nicely and has already learned to sit and lay down! We're working in
"shake hands" this week. She responds well to the other neighborhood dogs, except for
the really big ones who scare her a little. The kids just love her!!
Her crate training is
going well, but her preference is to sleep on the cool tile.
Jim designed and constructed
a dog house/shelter for her this weekend. It sits on the north side of our house so Summer will have continuous shade during
TX heat!
I'll send more pictures to keep you up to date. Thanks again for the wonderful
addition to our family!
Mandy

Dear Debra, I can't believe how fast these little
ones grow. Flight is almost twice the size he was when he came. We are really enjoying him and I think he us.
He is just a nice dog. We love him. Attached are some photos my daughter took. You will see our
backyard, he has the run of the whole thing. Will stay in touch. Thanks again for the pup. Gary

Hello Debra, Mr.
Higgins is fine, a very active boy! This potty training w/ be a challenge. I am going to try to get a kennel this
week. He stays in the restroom @ night now and has been doing very well. He i s a good boy and almost knows sit on command. I really love him. How are you and I look forward to hearing from you. Jeanah, Jeffrey, Danielle and Mr. Higgins
and Freckles

Mr. Higgins is fine.
Doing well, very, very active. He knows sit, and almost has shake down. I tried to get to ur website today, but
it was down Jeanah, Hope all is well

Debra, Mason
is now 6 months old. We plan to have him neutered sometime around the end of July. We'll let you know so you
can send papers later. By the way, can you tell me how to tape or handle his ears so they stand up and "fall
over" correctly? Is it too late at his age to train the ears? We could even come up there sometime if its
too hard to explain in writing. Mason has really turned out great! He is VERY loyal, wants to be with
us all the time and very loving. We hired a dog trainer who comes to our house to help us with all four of our dogs.
Mason learns almost instantly and doesn't forget. He will stay on a "long sit" or "long down"
for 30 or more minutes without moving. Chuck put him on a stay down at the neighbor's yard, walked back across the
street, went in the garage out of sight for a while, went back to another neighbor's house and Mason did not move until
Chuck gave him the "clear" signal. Whenever we take him on a walk, he waits at the door until we give him
the okay to go out and waits again at the door until we clear him to come in. He amazes me. Maybe that's
no big deal for a Collie but we've never had a dog that good before. Molly is great too and learns fast but a little
stubborn at times. I think we spoiled her too much when she had problems with her hips. She is still the love
of my life these days. She thinks she owns me. Maybe she does. Take care. Suzanne

Debra: Tree Bark is doing fantastic............... have
to ask you a question? Tree Bark hasn't this wierdly hesterical thing that she does whenever we make a woo woo sound
at her. She attacks us with kisses and rubs all over us......Did you call her by saying woo woo in doggy voice or something...was
this something shawn did. It is a riot.....we have to make the sound just right and I mean exactly....her head goes
back and forth and she stares at you and when the pitch is just right -- bang....she leaps on you and tries to eat your face....(not
the bad kind of eat your face).....We all giggle like little kids......Do you have any idea what is making her do this.....it
is a RIOT! and by the way....she is a love starved PIG! I quit working again....I can't stand to be away from
my little peopledogs -- and she misses me too much when I am gone. I wasn't making enough to make it worth my while
anyway so I called it a day.
Best Regards, Sheila
|
|
Hi Dixie, Our vet will neuter him at 5 months. He had
a healthy puppy checkup, shots and we micro chipped him. (wish we could do that with the kids!!!!) Anyway, they were very
impressed with the paper work you gave us....that we showed them. It was impressive how he goes back so many generations....and
that you had his eyes checked like you did. They said what you did was a sign of a very good kennel! Lancaster (near
us) is famous for puppy mills...did you see the show on Oprah a few weeks ago? They said you were definitely NOT a puppy mill.
We are so pleased with Hunter....oh yes, we actually have been having a hard time calling him Hunter since my husband
keeps calling him "Bandit!" Is it too late to change his name? I wasn't sure if that would be a permanent
thing or not. He is always stealing things (besides our hearts) and he looks like a Bandit! Take care. I'll send the info
when he's neutered.
Sincerely, Jane

Hello Debra,
I hope things are going well.
I just thought I’d send an updated picture of Star. She is doing fantastic!!! I am keeping her ears taped
and I think they may just stay tipped. I did stop bracing them together, but I was wondering if I should start it up
again.

Do you by chance have a picture of Christmas when she was
little? If so we would love to have one. Tks for the name information. Everyone is so crazy about her they always
want to know how she got the name. Ann

Star
arrived safely last night. We got in very late and were extremely tired. Plus I had
to shut down my computer because of a storm....So I am just now able to email. She ate very well last night and this
morning. She seems to be settling in. She was not for
sure of the lead but I'm confident she will catch on soon. She carries herself with such confidence!! She
holds her head high as you described King does. Her and Dustin will make a great pair!!
Well gotta run...
it's our last day before spring break. YEH!!!

Hi Debra and Dixie Foxfires
first night with us went very well - she seems to be settling in completely
- she has had a little diarrhea and wimmpered a few times early in the night but otherwise is
doing great. She slept through the night with one awake time to relieve herself. She figured out very quickly where the water
and food bowl were and where her toys were. She is quite adventursome outside and has taken possession inside like a natural.
She slept in the yard for about an hour this morning while I watered the vegetable garden without
a worry in the world. Wolfie is totally taken by her and very sweet with her. He was pretty excited
last night and is still hovering somewhat but has calmed down and seems happy to have her here. We are giving him lots of
positive reinforcement and attention. Foxy is comfortable with him, plays with him and follows him around at times. She is
pretty independent already though as sometimes she is happy to go off on her own and play. We are once again totally thrilled
and having a ball. Thanks for giving her such a great start, Linda

King is settling in good. We have let him split his time between running around the yard with the kids and
spending time in his crate in Greg's office. The kids
love him and it is so amazing how calm he gets as soon as they come in sight...he can be
running and jumping and see Sara coming and he just walks up to her and gives her licks on the face. He is the
same with Christen and he and Andrew have started running up and down the driveway together! The kids really
love him and he seems to respond so well to them!

Both Love and Butter are settling in and are such joys! ..............Yesterday when we were picking
Branson up from school Butter just sat on command and waited! Love will do it but not as consistent yet! I bought a "Y"
extension and take them on walks together now and they do great! Gary is at the point of not wanting me to go to the store
by myself because I always come back with something for "the girls"! I just love saying "the girls"! In my family of men it has always been the guys or the boys so I am getting great joy of saying the
girls but the guys get a little jealous I think :) Anyway I will try to send pic tomorrow of Santa. ......... I am now SO "in love" with both that I couldn't imagine
parting with them. I am sure my friends get tired of hearing me talk about them but too bad :) Warmly,

Hi Debra It's been
too long since I wrote but the news continues to be great. Wolfie is maturing into such an exceptional fella, he just seems
to have it all - intelligence, sensitivity, curiosity, common sense, devotion, humor, looks and loads of personality.
I take him to work often now and he taught 60 hours of animal therapy with me last summer. He is still a little
too rambuncious to use in more sedate situations but he is getting better there as well. He is
soooooo popular now at the university that I am becoming known as Wolfies Mom. We really enjoy him. He has set patterns
he expects from us each day and if we deviate he busies himself trying to heard us into them or giving us the most "don't
you people get it" look. Its hysterical. Now that Wolfie has completed most of his training and
socialization and is settling into his "working thearpy" role with me and totally taken
over the household we are contemplating adding a female collie to the family. We would love to find a puppy similar
in looks, intelligence, presence and personality to Wolfie. There is no hurry in our search but we are thinking mid, late spring, early summer as Paul has summers off and it makes
those first months easier for everyone. I thought I'd let you know our thoughts so you could keep us in
mind as you have (or plan) litters down the road. I would be happy to give you a deposit or payment on hold in order to have the opportunity to essentially have the same situation we worked out before where I
could visit and interact with your litters and choose a puppy that will be first a great family member and then a part
time teacher and thearpy dog. Over time that would make our household complete and give both dogs one or two days of
work a week and the rest off and each other as companions. I hope all is well with you and your pups. I
visited your web site - it is looking great and was such fun. I love the dogs running the property. How beautiful phisically
and spiritually. And of course it was a hoot to see Wolfie there. Linda

Oh Debra we are in love! Jake (aka: Sam) arrived last week from
Denise and he is such a sweet heart. He is so laid back and very intelligent. Not one accident in
the house as of yet. He met my husband this weekend and they hit it off. He’s already a member of the family and settling in well. Michael adores him. I saw the trainers you
are recommending and wish we lived closer to Austin. We started a class at PetSmart today. I liked it and have learned some
things. Jake was very good but like a child has a short attention span. Michael was encouraged to come with me, he didn’t
really participate with Jake but he behaved for the most part.

Dear Debra, Here are some pictures from your
house and then last night. Honey is doing well and has seemed to enjoy keeping track of where the kids have been all
day. She has followed them a lot, but has also laid down by where they are playing as well. Her tail is wagging
most of the time and she seems to be settling in fine. Dixie

Hi
again... I will take your advice and glue the ears. I am getting used to looking at her now ....I think
she is adorable. I love her so much. Debra, I would have a house full of collies if I could. They are so
precious. Shelby is so different from Bentley. Though she is much more gentle, she is also very, very mischievious.
she gets into everything and I must keep an eye on her at all times. Then, after she reeks havoc in
the house, she collapses from exhaustion! It's so funny. I have started obedience classes already and she's
at the top of the class. I would love to come and see you. But alas, it might not be until end
of the week.......... ...... Anyhow, I will hopefully see you soon, Debbie

Hi Debra - puppy update
The trip back went about as expected.
Wolfie threw up once then settled in, whined and was restless a few times but not much. I stopped
at a rest stof and he relieved himself and drank some water without any problems. We stopped on the way home to register for
a puppy (not really obedience but they call it that - really socialization) class and he was adored by many. The last 15 minutes
home he was clearly tired of the car and ready to romp. I let him run around the back yard and explore some (which he clearly
loves to do) then we introduced him to the dog we already have (100 pound shepard dane mix). They did very well together (Franc
is used to being around many other dogs) and humorously Wolfie seems to be establishing top dog status. He ate dinner, then
we all went for a walk in the woods and he and Franc spent the evening in
the TV room with us getting to know each other more and chewing on various chew toys. They each have beds in
our bedroom side by side. Wolfie cried a little (but very little) I took him out an 12:30 and 4:30 and inbetween he was pretty
much perfect. This morning he ate and drank and went out and relieved himself (nice and formed) and is now engaged in
trying to get Franc to play (who is mostly interested in sleeping). He has explored the house
several times (3400 sq ft so he is busy -except he has to be helped up the stairs), cries every once in
a while for a few seconds (I am sure he is missing all his playmates) but seems to be settling
in very well. He is a bright, self possesed, curious and affectionate pup - we could not have
asked for more. Paul is very taken with him as well and they are making fast friends.
Tomorrow we will visit the
vet but clearly we are expecting nothing but ohs and ahs.
Thank you for entrusting us with this wonderful guy
Linda and Paul

I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is to send them all on their
way - all you can do is hope for the best after all those weeks of worrying and caring for them. They are so dependent on
us to look out for their best interests. I am not sure I could do what you are doing and know it must be hard to see them
go off into the unknown. He is doing well (asleep at the moment) and we will do all we can to keep him well and happy and
to have a long, fun, useful life. I'll send updates along and you are always welcome to check in.

"Sarge" (Gravity) is getting so big! He is just beautiful.
He is beginning to lose his puppy coat, and is a nice sable color, with a warmer sable color that frames his face, and blends
to what might be a mahogany. I'll have to send you some pics soon- ............- and I know how picky you are about
your babies.... I'll send you some pictures this evening when I get home! Be
Blessed!

Note from Debra Amszi of Honeytree Collies: (I am
proud to be breeder of Braveheart and I am proud that Dixie Rose works with me and my lines. She does a great job with
my collies and raising litters for me and soon for herself)
Dixie, Oh, I can't thank you enough! I love the pictures!! It is a very good line. I am so
proud of my boy. He is just wonderful! He is absolutely the perfect collie temperament, too! He loves
everyone, and the smaller human you are the more he likes you. When he sees a toddler or small child he just starts
to quiver all over and can't wait to go say hello to them. I'll bet that is from his early part of life with
you and your children. When the dogs are all out in the yard and take off barking at something, I step out and
tell them 'quiet', he is always the first to run to me with his head a little hanging down like, "I'm sorry"
and he will lay down at the door and be still. He is incredibly obedient and sweet. We are in obedience……but no sitting. He is doing very good.
He gets pumped cause he knows he is doing good, too. He moves with his tail happy and swishing. And finally, last
week we started our confirmation classes under a man by the name of Jay from White Oak. He raises and shows Malamutes.
He has been showing for six yrs. and has finished 11 dogs…. his and other peoples. I am very impressed
with him. He really knows his stuff and I am learning so much. Jay loves Braveheart. He said he is really
good. He just 'awes' at Braveheart's movement and is working with me to move him in a way that
it really shows him off. I have to take very long strides, which I am unaccustomed to doing. He has this huge
4' x 3' mirror hung on the side of an incline for us to use to stack our dogs. That works so well. We
are getting ready….but he is not ready, yet. I will get someone to take some pictures of him this Thursday at
class and send them. Again, thanks for
the pictures. God bless you and your
family, Debbie and Olivia

Thanks for the pictures. Your “island girl” - Savannah –
is doing great. I don’t have any pictures, but she is already bigger than her big sister, the 6-yr old Lab/golden mix. She is still an air-head, tipping over the water bowl and chasing the cats, but is very sweet and loving and very pretty. The neighbors are complaining about her barking, so we are trying to figure out ways to control that. I’ll
send pictures when I have some.

Dear Debra, I had
forgotten how much fun a pup is!!! This little guy learns fast and he is such a joy. My daughter returns from
Calif. Friday and I will send pictures next week. I found the movie. Good looking grandfather.
Flight and Major have bonded. They fight over everything and he holds his own with the bigger dog! The big one
knows just how far to go and then backs off, Major goes out of his way to play with him. I lose Major in about
three weeks and Flight will be lonely. I can see it coming. At night when we put him in the play and
pack he goes over to his pillow and goes to sleep. Can't believe it. If he has to do his thing in the night
he wines a little and I get up and take him out. Today he came running into the house and then turned around and ran
back out into the yard and did his thing. This is easier than a child! (ha) Thanks again Debra for
the pup. He is a blessing!!!!! We just love him.
Gary p.s., most people in the neighborhood have never seen a Collie pup. They have fallen for him.
Shelby is doing well......... We love her so much Debra. She is smart, smart,
smart! and is the apple of Bentley's eye! He is very attached to her and will not leave her side. It's
fun to watch them. Her ears are huge! Simpley huge! The glue has come off and they are as perky as ever. Was
her mother's ears big? I think they're cute but it drives Jim crazy. I may have to buckle under his pressure
and put more glue on them! Her sweet disposition makes up for the ears......let me
know how things are going.... Debbie

The
reign of Henry II of Caledon; week one. He has already grown some and is VERY active. He survived the vet. The cats are tolerating him. We got a medium crate to
put by the bed so we could keep him in one area. We have been able to get longer sleep periods with him in it. Thank you for the puppy book it has been very useful. He eats like a horse
and chews on everything -toys, chews, furniture, doors, clothes. etc. I am putting everything up so he can't
get to it. He likes the grass and relieves himself when outdoors. I try to get him out
before he goes inside so he will get used to it. He follows me everywhere. If I am not
around, he follows Gwen everywhere. He watches us. He will come to me when I call his name
and he climbed about 1/3 of the way up the stairs then went back down on Saturday morning. It was nice late Saturday evening so I took him up for a short flight.-Kirby

Hi Debra.
I just took these pictures of "Elliot" in the backyard with our little Pack. Actually, we renamed him.
We now call him Mason. Its such a neat name and his Grandfather is a really special dog. Plus Mason and Molly
sound good together. In
these pictures you can see his thick coat with his pretty coloring and how big he's getting. We hired a dog
trainer to come to the house and help us with a little dog psychology including obedience training. Mason, at his young
age, is the best so far. He knows Sit and Down, walks on a leash great, won't go out the front door without being
invited, etc, etc. ...............Let me know what you think of the pictures. Suzanne & Chuck

Hello Debra,
I hope today finds everything going well for
you. I just thought I’d let you know that I did brace Star’s ears. Thanks for your advice. I’m
still not very good at the bracing but I am getting better. How long should a person brace the ears?
She
is still just wonderful!! She has a very nice gait!!
I just had to send this picture of her from tonight.
We were enjoying the weather on our back patio and Star had to sneak through the shrubs. Oh… don’t look
to close at our shrubs. We trimmed just a little bit too much. ha ha ….

We just received Jakes canine good citizens certificate from the AKC….I am so proud
of Jake.
We went for a walk at the bike/hike trail in Goliad last weekend. We had several dogs go past us with their owners.
The other dogs were pulling at their leashes and just going absolutely nuts trying to get to Jake. Jake just kept walking
with me and I was so proud of him. He completely ignored the other dogs and stayed right with Michael and I…it was
so sweet to realize that all our obedience classes have paid off and we have a wonderful family member and companion.
Hugs, Wen

Elliot's first
night was very good. He slept until about 5:30. We keep all the dogs in the kitchen at night and he was with them
but in a pen area in the kitchen. Molly has already assumed the position of mother for Elliot. When he cries,
she comes running to see what's up. When Tommy, our male dachshund, gets too rough with Elliot, Molly is so cute.
She gets in between them and makes Tommy get away. She heards Tommy and barks at him, but just looks at Elliot like
"are you okay"? She seems to know he's a collie too and he adores Molly. When its just Molly and
Elliot outside together, Elliot sits by Molly and Molly takes care of him.
Its
all so cute and just as we hoped it would be.
We'll
send pictures soon.
I had to write and tell you what Molly just did.
Elliot was being a typical puppy and biting at my legs. His puppy teeth are so sharp so I was saying NO and pushing
him away from me. Molly came over and started barking at Elliot and pushing him away from me with her head and nose.
She kept barking at him until he walked away and sat down. Then Molly came over to me and sat by me. She is amazing!!!
I've never had a dog that smart. Chuck and I won't have to raise Elliot, Molly will do it for us. :)

This does sound soooo fun. Company
comin' in, though. I've been on vacation in Houston. Back yesterday, got both of your messages.
Nice to hear from you. I will send you some pics! Oh yea, we got a nice wrought iron fence put in for Daisy and
a dog house, but she only goes in it for 5 minutes at a time!! She sleeps in the house with us. She's already
so spoiled. We love her.

PM Debra,
So good to hear from you.
I went to visit my parents at Christmas and forgot the camera! I had planned to send you a recent picture. Oakvale
King Ringo is turning out to be a beautiful dog. I am really
no judge, but I think he moves absolutely beautifully, and he is getting a beautiful coat. He looks a lot like Gadfly.
He’s really smart and is putting my dad through his paces. Both my parents are crazy about this puppy. I
should have some pictures in a month or so.

The same thing happened with my son’s Siberian Huskie about 8 years ago. We still miss Servo.
On
the other hand, the Mississippi King is doing very well. He was at my house at Christmas, and I have never known a better
dog in the house. He is smart, loyal and beautiful. Pretty neat.
Best regards,

Debra,
Just wanted to let you know that I am really enjoying your website! I have stayed late at work
so I could catch up on your news. This is very well "put-together" and a joy to read. We feel the
same way you do about collies, and it is so nice to hear the warmth expressed as well as you do.
Mary

Debra, Your new website looks pretty
neat. I wanted to give you an update on King. I wish I had some good pictures of him, so I will
try to get some soon. He is the sweetest, most adorable dog, and he is just beautiful. Harriet
He’s actually looking
better and better. He had some matting, and my little cousin came over and groomed him. She had to cut some mats,
so I want to wait for pictures until they grow out. She talked to my dad about using conditioner. I think it will
help with the matting. He spends so much time outside goofing around that he’ll never look like a show dog, but
he looks pretty good on an everyday basis, I must say. His movement is so beautiful. Watching him trot
across the field is like watching a ship sail across the water.
|
|
Hi Debra, Awesome Website...love the changes! How is everything going with you? You are certainly headed in the right direction with your collies. How is
your new Van M boy Blue? Have a great day! Linda
|
Thank you Debra. Love the website and have it saved to my
favorites. I was shocked to hear that you had Teddy Bear neutered but you as the breeder knows best. I hope you find a wonderful
home for him, he deserves it!! I’m glad you and your husband are doing what you do…not many
people do and it makes my heart happy!! When we get out new house built in the next 2-3 yrs I will be contacting
you for a pup to keep Jake company. Jake is doing great. A bit depressed as Michael has started school this year but he’s
adapting. I love seeing Jake when Michael comes home as both him and Michael bounce off the walls with happiness… Take care, Wendy
