Breeding is complex.

There are no collie lines that are always perfect anyway.

So collies should not be just paired up with other collies and expected to get the same results as the breeders that know all areas. It is one thing to brag about doing tests but another to know how to match up the results and at the same time match up serious conformation qualities and avoid doubling conformation faults.

Please visit your breeders and study about collies.

Know that a high price does not mean the collies are any better.

Low prices most often mean the breeder did not invest much care.

Know that testing costs a whole lot  for a breeder to find the right collies to breed and the prices have to be higher for some breeders that have a pedigree of tested collies breeding for improvment. You should see the certificates and databases for yourself for each test before believing a breeder.

It matters how a collie is built and it matters how the parents look because the cute pup will grow up to look like the pencil legged parents or the pointed nosed snipped parents. But if the parents are strong and pretty then the pups have a much better chance to grow up to look strong and beautiful.
